War of the Flea: The Classic Study of Guerrilla Warfare — Robert Taber
⭐⭐⭐⭐ This guy sounds like a crank and he says some odd stuff, but the first few chapters are very good and his excitement is fun.
Un-American: A Soldier’s Reckoning of Our Longest War — Erik Edstrom
⭐ The chapters on life in West Point and on the ground in Afghanistan are good. The best parts of the book are in these details; the narrative and argumentation that bookends them, much less so.
Soldier of the Mist — Gene Wolfe
⭐ Couldn’t finish it. The appeal of the book seems to be the background mythology and history but I have none of that, so it’s just endless plot.
